Kedvezmény Great Lives – A Century in Obituaries

An obituary gives an instant assessment of a life. The Times, for over 150 years, has been providing the most respected and perceptive verdicts on the lives of the great and the good. Included here are obituaries of over 100 of the most significant and influential politicians, sportspeople, musicians, writers, artists, pop stars and military personnel gathered together by the Obituaries Editor of The Times, Ian Brunskill. They are ordered chronologically and provide fascinating juxtapositions of characters, so Robert Maxwell follows Miles Davis and Pope John Paul II follows Yassir Arafat. Scattered throughout are pictures from The Times archive, many of which have not been seen since the obituary was published. Authoritative, fascinating, insightful and endlessly engaging, The Times Great Lives is a must for anyone with an interest in the history and people of the twentieth century.
